Independent Living Services (ILS) are ideal for relatively independent people who need only a few hours a week of assistance. PCS tailors a unique program for each individual so they receive the optimum benefit out of the service hours. ILS hours are designed to be utilized on a 1:1 basis and can be authorized for up to 20 hours per month per person. Additional hours may be approved by the Regional Center on an exception basis. Hours of support are usually utilized to provide assistance with money management, bill paying, medical appointments, community connections, social integration, and home maintenance. Individuals can start with ILS support or transition from SLS support to ILS support if/when their support needs to change and their independence grows.
